Top 3 Reasons HH Will Be A New Plastic Product Line?

horus walpaper

It’s no secret that a new Horus Heresy Starter box is on the way, so come see some BIG indicators that GW will make the HH Plastics into their own line.

1). Horus Heresy: Battle for Ultramar Miniatures Sprues

First take a look again at the plastics that have been spotted for this set:

Notice anything “strange” about these “Starter Set” minis? It appears that they are the full on mulit-part kits like we’re used to getting in normal model kits. That seems pretty weird honestly as normally starter sets come with the 2-3 part models that are all “push fit” or “quick assembly” like the models below in the current 40k Dark Vengeance stater set.

Normally I feel like we only see these multi-part sprues inside bundle deals like last summer’s “Stormclaw” box for instance that was full current multi part sprues of Orks and Space Wolves with two new character models.

So if the majority of this new HH starter set sprues are just like the one’s we’ve seen already, then I imagine Games Workshop could easily make each of those units it’s own box set.

2). Retail Space

The Hobbit apparently has been removed from most GW stores, leaving behind an 8 foot display section that could easily support another new product line.

This pic from the other side of the store shows top shelves that are set higher to hold the old stater and army box sets that look to be now “flexed” over to the Hobbit space above?

Looks like Games Workshop may have some free product space to fill with the removal of the Hobbit from their stores?

3). Pimp Your Legionaries

From the sprue pics we saw above, it looks like the Starter set will feature “generic” Legionaries with no specific affiliation. We heard recently that there may be a decal sheet included for a few of the Horus Heresy Legions, but which ones is a matter of speculation at this point.

However what isn’t a matter of speculation is the fact that nearly a THIRD of all Horus Heresy “Legionaries products” on Forge World’s site are now upgrade sets.

I could see that if they did offer a “discounted” Horus Heresy Starter (based on price point) set like we’re hearing, that players would snap up Legionaries upgrades left and right from them to customize their new plastic kits!

Regardless of if we’re drawing too many conclusions from the facts we do have currently, I think it’s safe to say that a new Horus Heresy set priced at a ‘bundle’ discount, may just be the best deal we’ve ever seen from Games Workshop.
