It’s Vince here from Cloud of Paint.  We’re really looking forward to sharing our painting adventures with all of you lovely Spikey people but before we do we’d like to introduce ourselves.

Cloud of Paint is our blog where we post photos and write up of the models we paint.  We also post articles about all aspects of the hobby.  It really tends to follow our thoughts and reflects the way we have fun with Warhammer.

We’re not professional artists or photographers and we’re not hardcore gamers either.  We love to paint and try out new painting techniques and get a lot of enjoyment from painting.  So you can expect to find both our successes and our failures in our blog as we try out new things and explore our abilities.

Currently we’re painting the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower and we’ll have write ups coming soon for the models in that set.  We took a weeks holiday to paint as much as we could so we’ve got some monsters all ready to show.

Emma

Emma is new to painting and first picked up the brushes a few months ago.  She’s learning fast and getting stuck in, trying out new techniques and experimenting all the time.  Currently Emma is focussing on improving her brush skills as we work our way through Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower.  Emma takes the photos and looks after our Facebook page where you can get in touch with us.  Here’s Emma’s first finished miniature.

Vince

I started out in Warhammer more than 20 years ago but I’ve been painting for around 10 of those.  I got my hands on an airbrush and I’m learning how to use it to save time and get some smooth results.  I write the articles for our blog and keep our website up and running.  Here you can see the first space marine I ever painted alongside the most recent one I’ve painted.

How we Paint

We tend to take different approaches to painting models.  Emma has a lot of patience and will continually work on a model whilst I have a lot less patience and enjoy getting fast results.  Often we will collaborate on models where I start them by airbrushing and Emma finishes them off by adding details.  It’s a great way for us to keep up motivation and focus on the parts of the process we enjoy the most.  Oil washes are another important part of our methods as they also provide great results quickly and easily.  We’ll be covering these techniques in our articles too.

Coming Soon

We’ll be back soon with our first update on what’s been happening in the Cloud of Paint.  If you want to get in touch you can follow us on Facebook and find our blog at http://cloudofpaint.co.uk.  We’d love to hear from you and we’re always happy to talk hobby.
